They had a ton of old movies, which is not easy to find and/or download. Anything newly released on BluRay was immediately uploaded. The audio was a bit meh, but you could fix it through VLC's equalizer. The quality was surprisingly decent for the filesize.

Their filesize was small enough that I could download anything in a few minutes. Also the original YIFY left and his friends took over the site, which was another big point of contention. That's when you saw the most prominent hate (I was a frequent visitor to their site). So one week it was horror, the other week was action, that week was all Schwarzenegger etc.
Instead they started uploading films according to genre. They used to have a "suggestions" section in their homepage, which was never listened to after they took off and it was spammed with every movie listed in IMDB. Now the whole hate thing is a bit deeper. Most people bring up that their rips were of low quality and had a bad sound. Meta threads about OOTL itself should be asked via sending us a message in modmail.
